Talks, Workshops & Away Days
Bring practical AI skills to your event, team, or leadership day
Not every team needs a full programme. Sometimes what you need is a single focused session that helps people cut through the noise and leave with skills they can use.
The idea behind this service
Sometimes all a team needs to start is a single focused session: a conference keynote that helps an audience cut through the noise, a workshop that helps a team make sense of AI in their own work, or a leadership away day that turns scattered conversations into a shared direction. This service exists for exactly those moments.
Who it's for
This works well for leadership teams who want to step back from the day-to-day and get properly aligned on AI; for departments and staff groups who want a hands-on session shaped around their own work; and for conference organisers and CPD leads who need a credible, sector-aware voice that speaks the language of higher education.
If you have a budget for a one-off engagement and want it to actually land, this is where we start.
How it usually takes shape
Three formats, each shaped around your audience and what you want to achieve.
Keynotes and conference talks
Sessions for HE conferences, sector events, all-staff days, and internal launches. Always tailored to the audience and the moment, so the room leaves with something they can act on rather than another general AI overview. Common themes include practical AI literacy for university staff, leadership clarity in an AI-shaped sector, and the honest boundaries between hype and useful adoption.
One-off workshops
One hour, two hour, half-day or full-day sessions for a team, department, or cross-functional group. We start with what people actually do week-to-week and build the session around it, so by the end participants have tried things, made decisions, and have a clear sense of where to go next. Particularly effective for professional services teams, academic departments, and L&D groups.
Leadership away days
Structured working sessions for senior teams who want to use the time well. Built around our own frameworks, including the AI Use Hierarchy and our HE Use Case Bank, and designed to produce something concrete by the end of the day: a shared view of where AI fits in your strategy, a sense of priorities, and the beginnings of a roadmap your team will actually own.
What makes these sessions different
Our work sits inside higher education, not adjacent to it. The examples we use are drawn from real university work, the frameworks have been built and refined with HE clients, and the language is one your staff already speak: NSS, REF, exam boards, mitigating circumstances, external examiner workflows, and the rest.
Just as importantly, we take a people-first view. Confidence and clarity matter more than the next shiny tool. Audiences leave feeling capable, not anxious.
What to expect
Every booking starts with a short discovery call so we can understand your audience, your context, and what you want the session to achieve. From there we'll send a clear proposal covering format, content shape, and fee, and shape the session collaboratively in the weeks before it runs.
We'll always agree what success looks like before we begin.
Have an event, team day, or away day in mind?
The earlier the conversation, the better we can shape something that genuinely lands.
